Workshop Overview:
Join us for an engaging writing intensive workshop where we will dive into the world of Kate DiCamillo’s Newbery Award-winning book, “Because of Winn-Dixie.” This workshop will help students enhance their writing skills through a series of creative prompts and activities inspired by the book.

Workshop Details:
• Duration: 6 August Classes 

Location: 1301 N. Oregon Street
• Schedule: Tuesdays & Thursdays 12:30-1:30

• Instructor: Ms. Lyndse 

What to Expect:

Creative Writing Prompts: Students will respond to thought-provoking writing prompts based on themes and events from “Because of Winn-Dixie,” fostering their creativity and writing abilities.
Vocabulary Building: Each session will include activities focused on spelling and understanding new vocabulary introduced in the book.
Interactive Activities: Engaging exercises designed to deepen comprehension and encourage a love for storytelling.

Important Note:
The book will not be read during class time. Students are expected to read “Because of Winn-Dixie” outside of class. Please ensure your child reads the book before attending OR throughout the workshop.

Book Club Recommendation:
For those who wish to read “Because of Winn-Dixie” in a group setting and explore its language arts elements in more depth, we highly recommend joining our book club. We will be reading this book together at a pace that prepares students for this class. The book is included in your registration.
