ITAV Science Club: Fall Semester Focus on Chemistry!

This fall, the ITAV Science Club is diving into the fascinating world of chemistry! This series is designed for young scientists to explore the building blocks of matter through hands-on experiments and engaging lessons. Parents can choose individual classes, but each session builds upon the last, offering a deeper understanding of chemistry concepts.

Class Schedule:

• Class 1: October 2nd Capillary Dip n Dye
In this science class, students will dye coffee filters to explore how water molecules move through the paper's fibers.

• Class 2: October 9th Acids & Bases with Blue Brew
Students will identify acids and bases using red cabbage as a natural pH indicator in this hands-on science activity.

• Class 3: October 16th Chemical Changes with Puking Pumpkins
In this exciting science class, students will explore chemical reactions by creating "puking pumpkins" to witness the fun effects of baking soda and vinegar!. (Please bring your own SMALL pumpkin)

• Class 4: October 23rd Viscosity with Glitter Wands
In this science class, students will explore viscosity by making their own glitter wands to observe how different liquids flow.

Class 5: October 30th Liquid Lasagna
In this hands-on science experiment, kids will learn about density by creating a colorful liquid lasagna with various liquids.

Each class includes an experiment and a short lesson that connects the day’s science topic to everyday life. Join us for a fun and educational journey into the world of chemistry!
