ITAV Science Club: Fall Semester Focus on Chemistry!

This fall, the ITAV Science Club is diving into the fascinating world of chemistry! This series is designed for young scientists to explore the building blocks of matter through hands-on experiments and engaging lessons. Parents can choose individual classes, but each session builds upon the last, offering a deeper understanding of chemistry concepts.

Class Schedule:

• Class 1: September 4th - DIY Watercolor Paints
Students will create their own watercolor paints while learning about molecular motion, diffusion, and how molecules combine to form new solutions.

• Class 2: September 11th - 1+1 Does Not Equal 2 Brew
Through a fun and surprising experiment, students will explore how molecules fit together in unexpected ways.

• Class 3: September 18th - Natural Dyes
Discover the science behind natural dyes! Students will learn about the chemistry of dyes, make their own, and dye their own cloth. (Please bring a piece of cloth to dye.)

• Class 4: September 25th - Chemical Changes 
Students will explore phase changes and chemical changes by creating their own mini water cycle in a jar.

Each class includes an experiment and a short lesson that connects the day’s science topic to everyday life. Join us for a fun and educational journey into the world of chemistry!
