Advanced Literary Analysis and Composition: Code Talkers
Explore the power of resilience, honor, and cultural identity in this advanced class based on Joseph Bruchac's Code Talker. Meeting from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, students will read and analyze the story of the Navajo Code Talkers of World War II, discussing how their contributions helped change the course of history.
Through thought-provoking discussions and composition exercises, students will engage with themes of courage, loyalty, and the complexities of identity during war. We’ll delve into the historical backdrop of WWII, learning about the crucial role of Native American code talkers and their cultural impact.
