Our Education Pillars
Literary Analysis
This class takes a deep dive into Western literature, encouraging students to read critically, think independently, and engage in dialogue and debate. We examine how stories reflect and shape culture and history, and we help students learn to interpret literature through both a literary and cultural lens.
Essentials Of Composition
This foundational writing class introduces students to a wide range of writing forms—narrative, persuasive, informative, reflective—while focusing on clarity, structure, and voice. Students will write weekly and gain confidence in expressing ideas through words in engaging ways.
History In Their Own Words
Students will explore major historical moments and movements through original source documents—letters, speeches, diaries, legal texts, and eyewitness accounts. This approach helps students connect deeply with the past by hearing directly from the people who lived it. Rather than only memorizing facts, students will analyze, question, and respond to history as an active dialogue.
Rooted in Truth: Biblical Foundations For Life (optional)
This class explores the unshakable foundations found in God’s Son, God’s promises, God’s character, and God’s love. Students will grow deep roots in biblical truth that guide their faith, shape their values, and strengthen their lives through every season. Grounded in these timeless truths, they will be equipped to live with purpose, hope, and confidence.

HISTORY IN THEIR OWN VOICES
Civil Rights to Slavery: By starting with Civil Rights and working backward, students begin with a period that feels closer to their own world—one still within living memory—before peeling back the layers of history that led there. This reverse journey allows them to trace cause and effect in real time, seeing how the struggles of the Civil Rights Movement were shaped by earlier eras of segregation, Reconstruction, and slavery. Approaching history this way transforms it into a mystery to solve, making each discovery richer and more meaningful. Throughout the course, we will study history using primary source documents, guiding students to analyze authentic voices from the past. This method deepens understanding as students work backward in time, connecting historical events across generations
Literary Analysis
Students will embark on a unique journey through history—working backward from the era of segregation to the time of slavery. Through powerful literature, students will step into the lives of those who lived through injustice, courage, and change, beginning with Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry and Trailblazers: Jackie Robinson, then tracing history further back with Trouble Don’t Last and Hang a Thousand Trees with Ribbons. Along the way, we will analyze themes of resilience, freedom, and identity, sharpening critical thinking and deepening empathy while making connections between history, literature, and the present day.

Essentials of Composition
This class will help students grow as writers through weekly practice in persuasive, creative, and response writing. With consistent practice, students learn that the best way to become a strong writer is to write often.
